With a Focus on Fabulous Food, Curly Sandwiches are off the Menu at Shropshire Conferencing Venue
7th June 2012A south Shropshire food business is opening its doors to the corporate conferencing market and proving that they are much more than just a farm shop.
The Ludlow Food Centre, set in the heart of the 8000 acre Earl of Plymouth’s estate and now in its sixth year of trading, prides itself on a reputation for local and seasonal food, but believe that they have something extra to offer their customers.
“The Windsor Room at the Ludlow Food Centre is an interesting and unique venue, and we have a point of difference here that we can be really proud of”, explains marketing manager Tom Hunt.
The Food Centre - which has its own butchery, bakery, dairy, coffee-roasting room and production kitchen - produces half the food that they sell. Also, with well established relationships with local farmers, growers and food producers they have access to some of the finest ingredients in the Welsh Marches. This, believes Mr Hunt, is reflected in the standard of catering that they can offer to their corporate clients.
The Kitchens at the Food Centre are headed up by chef Mark Jones, who has an impressive CV having worked under such luminaries as Claude Bosi of Mayfair’s double Michelin starred restaurant, Hibiscus. With an events manager now in place, and a dedicated front of house team, the Ludlow Food Centre see themselves as a serious contender in the conferencing sector.
Tom Hunt says, “Unlike some of the larger conferencing venues, we are able to provide something a bit special with a more personal feel, and while we may a bit of a drive from the region’s motorways we feel confident that we are worth the journey.”
The Windsor Room also doubles up as a cookery demonstration theatre and this summer is attracting some top names from the world of food and drink including local celebrity chef Will Holland, the Telegraph’s Xanthe Clay, and Masterchef judge, William Sitwell.
The Ludlow Food Centre will be hosting a free corporate open afternoon in the Windsor Room with food and drink samples on Friday 22nd June. For information contact the Ludlow Food Centre on 01584 856000 or firstname.lastname@example.org
